Principal Software Engineer

Ori Industries is a pre-Series A startup that is revolutionising the Multi-cloud application orchestration space by providing a no-code application orchestration platform. Our team is made up of passionate individuals who are committed to creating a positive impact in the world. We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer who can help us achieve our vision by contributing to the development of our software platform.


Role Responsibilities

 

  • Lead the development of our software platform using Go, Kubernetes, and other relevant technologies 
  • Design and implement scalable, robust, and maintainable software systems that meet the needs of our customers 
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the development team 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and prioritise product features and requirements 
  • Ensure that software development practices follow agile and scrum methodologies 
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure that best practices are followed 
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks and issues 
  • Continuously improve software development processes and practices 


    Requirements

    • 8+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on backend development
    • Strong expertise in Go, Kubernetes and Database design.
    • Experience with software design patterns, microservices architecture, and cloud-native development 
    • Ability to provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of engineers 
    • Experience working in an agile and scrum development environment
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to analyse and debug complex issues
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field. 

      Bonus Requirements

      • Experience with front-end development using React or similar frameworks
      • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration tools like Docker Swarm
      • Experience with DevOps practices such as CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and cloud computing platforms like AWS or GCP.
      • Experience in Network fundamentals and in particular orchestration of Software Defined Networks and modern VPN and routing protocols.
